What is Recovery Day at the Capitol?

Recovery Day at the Capitol is an inspiring and impactful event held during the Texas Legislative Session, where advocates from across the Lone Star State unite to champion substance use prevention, treatment, and recovery. This powerful day brings voices together at the Texas State Capitol in Austin, where participants engage in coordinated group visits with their Representatives and Senators, sharing stories and advocating for change.

Co-hosted by the Association of Substance Abuse Programs (ASAP), the Texas Association of Addiction Professionals (TAAP), and RecoveryPeople, this event is a key opportunity to shape the future of addiction policy in Texas. Together, we’ll focus on vital policy priorities, including strengthening the workforce, securing funding and access to services, and ensuring individual rights and protections.

Be part of the movement to make recovery a priority in Texas! Let’s raise our voices and make a difference—because recovery is worth fighting for. Register for Recovery day using the form below.
