Peer-to-Career

Learn AboutPeer-to-Career

Peer-to-Career is a State funded project that enhances the recruitment and retention of certified peer specialists in the recovery workforce and in turn, increases access to peer support for individuals impacted by the opioid crisis in Texas.

This will be accomplished by:

  • Completing a needs assessment that will shape how to prioritize resources.
  • Helping people achieve their peer specialist and peer specialist supervisor credential and career goals.
  • Partnering with employers, supervisors and training entities to meet peer specialist workforce needs in Texas.

Needs

In collaboration with the Texas Institute for Excellence in Mental Health (TIEMH), RecoveryPeople will conduct a needs assessment using existing data along with input from a Peer-to-Career Network survey of peer specialists and community partners. Draft finding will presented to an advisory committee before finalizing the report. Findings from the needs assessment will be used to prioritize where and how to best invest resources.
