Lisa Matt is a woman in long term recovery from substance use issues. She has a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Writing for Screen and Television, and she is currently pursuing both an Addictions Counseling degree and Recovery Support Peer Specialist certification.
In her role as RecoveryPeople, Lisa oversees our Peer-to-Career workforce development programs, which range from training coordination to scholarships to stipends.
Lisa is very active in the recovery community and prior to joining RecoveryPeople, she worked in the addiction treatment industry and played a key role in Texas’ response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lisa is committed to empower the voice of lived experience and to culturally congruent and linguistically appropriate support. She helped recruit formerly incarcerated individuals and their family members to participate in a Reentry Advocacy Project. Moreover, she managed projects for eLearning, games and textbooks for a publishing company specializing in English as a second language and bilingual educational materials.
Fun fact: Lisa has worked on more than 70 unscripted television (reality tv) shows.
