About Us:
RecoveryPeople is a statewide organization dedicated to improving the sustainability of peer recovery organizations (PROs) and strengthening the recovery support field. We believe that peer-run, community-based nonprofits are best positioned to provide nonclinical support service to individuals and families in recovery from mental health and/or substance use challenges. A shortage of PROs means that most Texans who could benefit from PRO services do not have access to them. This is often due to capacity, funding and policy barriers. Our programs provide training and technical assistance to PROs, funders and stakeholders to increase PRO capacity and sustainability and in turn increase access to recovery support services across Texas.
Job Summary:
The Peer Recovery Organization (PRO) Program Manager will oversee the design, delivery, and management of PRO programming, support a statewide coalition and advisory group, and meet defined goals and objectives while aligning with the organization's mission, vision and values. The position is currently grant funded, and the Program Manager will be expected to engage in business development activities to sustain and expand PRO and PRO Program capacity and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Weave the PROSPER network, meaning recruit, engage and interconnect target individuals and organizations, establish and re-establish letters of commitment and memorandums of agreement.
- Develop and implement a communication and marketing plan.
- Lead the development of a statewide strategic plan for peer recovery organizations in Texas.
- Manage the development and delivery of training and technical assistance to peer recovery organizations, funders and stakeholders.
- Coordinate activities across the project’s team including employees, contractors and advisory committee members.
- Support data collection, evaluation and reporting towards performance objectives and funder requirements.
- Facilitate advisory committee engagement and feedback towards rapid-cycle quality improvement.
- Serve as the point of contact for grant’s manager and respond to funder requests in a timely manner.
- Manage program budgets, reporting, and grant compliance, ensuring financial sustainability and adherence to organizational guidelines.
- Receive constructive feedback with grace, using it to iterate and improve.

- Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, nonprofit management, behavioral health or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Master’s degree preferred. Business degree or experience preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a program management or administrative role.
- Publicly identify as a persons or family members in recovery and a strong understanding of peer recovery organizations.
- Leadership skills with the ability to collaborate with, manage and motivate team members.
- Strong communication, organizational, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong technical, web-based workspace skills.
- Ability to thrive in a remote / home office working environment.
Experience /Preferred Skills:
- Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) or equivalent certification.
- Experience in community-based services, nonprofit management, or business administration.
- Experience in contract negotiations or health insurance billing or alternative payment models.
- Experience with Google Workspace, Salesforce, Mailchimp and WordPress.
- Familiarity with grant writing and funding processes for recovery programs.
- Bilingual.
