Monica Hernandez Sanchez is an ally of recovery with a Master of Science in Social Work. Monica is a Peer Specialist Supervisor, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, an Advanced Certified Prevention Specialist, and an Internationally Certified Prevention Specialist. Monica is currently the Deputy Director for Behavioral Health Solutions of South Texas, and has a great deal of experience as a leader and member of numerous non-profit and social causes. She is the former president of Casa de Proyecto Libertad, a non-profit working to provide legal defense, advocacy, and community organizing for immigrants in South Texas. She also served as a member of the Texas Association Against Sexual Assault (TAASA), the statewide coalition of survivors, advocates, rape crisis centers, and allied professionals committed to fostering a culture that respects the fundamental rights and dignity of all.
Monica joined the RecoveryPeople Board in 2021 and has served as its Vice President.
