Regina Ybarra receives RecoveryPeople’s 2024 Peer of the Year Award
RecoveryPeople is proud to announce that Regina Ybarra, the Project Coordinator at Punto de Partida Opioid Crisis Center in central El Paso, has been honored with RecoveryPeople’s Peer of the Year Award for her exceptional dedication and contributions to peer recovery and support.
Regina has been in recovery for three years as of March 2024, following over 20 years of living with substance use disorder. Her journey of recovery and resilience has inspired countless individuals. Involved in peer support for the past two years, Regina has passionately carried the message of recovery and harm reduction, helping others navigate their own paths to wellness.
Regina feels privileged to serve in such a crucial role supporting peers. Working at the center is a dream come true.
“I always hoped my lived experience would be for a greater purpose,” said Regina. “I am humbled to receive RecoveryPeople’s Peer of the Year Award and look forward to continuing to grow in this field.”
