Dillon West Receives RecoveryPeople’s 2021 Lifetime Achievement Award

In recognition of his life’s work in the recovery movement, RecoveryPeople is excited to announce Dillon West as the recipient of our 2021 Lifetime Achievement Award. This award is part of a RecoveryPeople campaign during National Recovery Month (September) that recognizes leaders in the recovery community.

Dillon West is a person in long-term recovery with over 30 years of sobriety, and he is nationally recognized as a pioneer in the recovery support services field. He founded the Center for Recovery and Wellness Resources (CRWR), which is a CAPRSS accredited recovery community organization (RCO) in Houston, Texas.

Dillon is a Certified Criminal Justice Professional (CCJP) and has over 24 years of experience as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), but his true passion is around delivering and teaching peer-to-peer recovery models. After being one of the first graduates of the Texas Treatment Initiative Program, which was established during Governor Ann Richards Administration, Dillion became a member of the Winners Circle Peer Network, a peer support group for formerly incarcerated individuals re-entering into the community. As a peer leader, he served as Chairman of 8 Winners Circle Chapters across Texas and then became the Program Director for the Houston Chapter. Dillon was Therapeutic Communities trainer for 5 years and has been a peer recovery specialist training in the State of Texas for over 11 years. Dillon also chairs the Recovery Peer Support Workgroup of the Houston Recovery Initiative.
