Job Title: Project Coordinator

Full-Time position unil Sep. 30, 2020  | $45,000 annual


RecoveryPeople is seeking a responsible, self motivated and performance driven individual to be the Project Coordinator for our Recovery Incubator, which is a Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) funded initiative through September 30, 2020. This project applies business incubator concepts to the recovery support services space to help existing and emerging recovery community organizations, recovery centers, recovery housing, youth recovery programs or other types of service providers achieve success and sustainability. To succeed in this role, you should have excellent organizational, time management, technology and communication skills.


RecoveryPeople is a Texas nonprofit that supports peer- and family-led recovery through training, technical assistance, certification and advocacy. As the Recovery Incubator Project Coordinator you will report to and work closely with the Project Director to establish and implement action plans. In addition you will work closely with the Project Evaluator and subcontractors to meet grant requirements and deliverables. Moreover, you are expected to provide excellent customer service to Recovery Incubator participants.


Requirements include:

  • Person 18 years old or older, and a Texas resident
  • Self identify as a person in recovery from substance use issues (2+ years of sustained recovery)
  • Demonstrates an understanding of recovery support services and recovery-oriented systems of care
  • Proven work experience as a Project Coordinator, Project Manager or similar role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Apps, WordPress, MailChimp and SalesForce or similar web-based technologies
  • Adept as virtual meeting and conferencing
  • Some travel required
  • Prefer individuals with: 1) business education or experience;  2) Certified Peer Recovery Specialist or equivalent training; 3) group facilitation, training or curriculum development experience; and/or 4) lived experience with recovery service providers (recovery community centers, recovery housing, youth recovery programs or similar services)


Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate and support project services and activities, including in-person and virtual events, trainings and technical assistance.  Coordinate service delivery via internal and external staff and resources
  • Project manage activities through SalesForce and coordinate learning management system activities
  • Identify the training and technical assistance needs of participants and target audiences
  • Participate in the development and delivery of training and technical assistance as needed
  • Break projects into doable actions and set timeframes
  • Field incoming requests and make sure that participants’ needs are met as the project evolves
  • Analyze risks, opportunities and ensure grant deliverables are met
  • Represent RecoveryPeople as needed
  • Write semi annual and annual performance reports
