Should peer specialist have their own Department of Labor (DOL) occupational classification?

“One Classification Counts” is a campaign launched by the International Association of Peer Supporters (iNAPS), which urges all peer workers—regardless of job title, population served, or workplace setting—to submit their occupation on the 2020 census under a single standard classification: Peer Support Specialist.

This could allow for better data collection and reporting on numbers of peer specialists, workplace settings, and rates of pay. To learn more, click here.
