Peer-to-Career: PSS (Peer Specialist Supervisor)

You may qualify for Peer Specialist Supervisor certification if one of the following applies to you:

Qualified Credentialed Counselor (QCC)
You are a Qualified Credentialed Counselor.

Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA)
You are a Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts.

Qualified Mental Health Professional–Community Services (QMHP-CS)
You are a QMHP-CS supervised by a QCC or LPHA.

Qualified Peer Specialist (QPS) — High School Diploma/GED
You are a certified peer specialist (MHPS or RSPS) with:

• A high school diploma or GED, and
• At least 4 years of work experience as a certified peer specialist.

Your supervisor must have a clinical license or be supervised by a clinician who can verify your work experience whether you are qualifying with 2 or 4 years of experience.

Qualified Peer Specialist (QPS) — Associate's Degree or Higher
You are a certified peer specialist (MHPS or RSPS) with:

• An associate's degree or higher from an accredited college or university, and
• At least 2 years of work experience as a certified peer specialist.

All applicants must also be able to pass the background check required by the Texas Certification Board.
