Job Description

Are you ready to use your lived experience to support others on their recovery journey? We are seeking a Peer Recovery Specialist to join our Harrisburg team and help individuals with serious mental illness and/or substance use disorders maintain housing after experiencing chronic homelessness. The PRS provides direct support, builds trusting relationships, and serves as a role model to empower clients toward recovery and stability. This position works closely with Case Managers and other team members to ensure clients are connected to the resources they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one peer support by sharing lived recovery experiences in a professional and supportive way.
Build rapport, foster trust, and encourage clients to take steps toward recovery and independence.
Collaborate with Case Managers to help clients maintain stable housing in alignment with the Housing First model.
Support clients in navigating and accessing SOAR Disability benefits and other entitlement programs.
Facilitate life skills groups, peer-led support groups, and social/recreational activities.
Record services, interventions, and progress notes in HMIS and EPIC (electronic health records).
Model positive coping strategies, resilience, and recovery practices while maintaining professional boundaries.
Participate actively in team meetings, staff trainings, and case conferences to ensure coordinated care.
