RecoveryPeople is a statewide organization building a brighter future for Texans in recovery. Core to all our work is leveraging the power and potential of people with lived experience in recovery. Our work focuses on key areas we believe are central to a successful community of recovery resources: 1) Normalizing Recovery ; 2) Protecting People in Recovery; 3) Strengthening The Recovery Profession and Field; and 4) Expanding Access and Opportunity for People in Recovery.
Our Peer-to-Career program enhances the recruitment and retention of peer workers certified peer specialists in the recovery workforce and increases access to peer support services for individuals impacted by the opioid crisis in Texas. This can best be accomplished in collaboration with a network of instructors, supervisors, employers, and stakeholders. RecoveryPeople recruits and weaves a social impact network, which is a system of interconnected people and organizations that work together to solve complex problems and impact social change. This includes lowering barriers to peer workforce certification and increasing the number of peer specialists serving persons with or at risk for opioid use disorders.
Position Summary:
Towards the goals and objectives of our Peer-to-Career program, the Marketing and Community Coordinator, also known as the “Network Weaver”, plays a dual role: 1) developing, implementing and tracking marketing, public awareness and recruitment campaigns and 2) growing and sustaining a vibrant community of students, instructors, supervisors, employers, and stakeholders. They will use an array of marketing strategies, such as: organic search engine optimization (SEO), Pay-per-click (PPC) advertising, social media campaigns, eNewsletters, traditional media and event tabling. Furthermore, they will coordinate networking and learning community events, promoting opportunities for cross learning, mutual aid and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing & Communications – Develop, implement and track the performance of a marketing and communications plan aimed at increasing awareness and recruiting individuals and organizations into the Peer-to-Career program. This will include:

Create compelling collateral such as narrative, graphics, videos, newsletters, and success stories

Coordinate event promotion, branding, and outreach efforts for campaigns and special projects.

Manage marketing channels such as organic search engine optimization (SEO), Pay-per-click (PPC) advertising, social media campaigns, eNewsletters, traditional media and event tabling.

Work closely with other team members and subcontractors.

Track, evaluate and report the effectiveness of marketing efforts.
Community Engagement and Development – Weave the network

Recruit individuals and organizations required for the success of the Peer to Career program: students, instructors, supervisors, employers, and stakeholders.

Build and maintain relationships across sectors.

Facilitate knowledge-sharing, mutual aid and mentorship through meetings, events, and online platforms.

Track, analysis and report performance metrics

Qualifications:

Reliable access to high-speed internet

Proven experience in community engagement, marketing, communications, or related roles.

Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication. Strong collateral design skills.

Proficiency in digital marketing tools. Proficient at using technology (e.g., Canva, Mailchimp, Hootsuite, WordPress, Google Analytics, Salesforce, etc.).

Deep understanding of and respect for grassroots, peer-based, or community-led approaches.

Highly organized, self-motivated, and collaborative.

Ability to thrive in a remote / home office working environment

Ability to periodically travel. Valid drivers license.
Preferred:

Publicly identify as a person in long-term / sustained recovery

Peer Specialist or other peer workforce certification

Proven ability to work remotely

Existing relationships with peer specialists instructors, supervisors, and employers in Texas

Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
Benefits:

Salary: Commensurate with experience ( $60,000 to $65,000). Healthcare insurance stipend.
