About This Training

Winter can bring changes in energy, routine, connection, and emotional well-being. For peer specialists, seasonal shifts may also influence how they experience their work, relationships, recovery, and capacity to remain present with others.

This reflective session creates space for participants to pause and consider what they are carrying into the winter season. Participants will explore compassion satisfaction and compassion fatigue, practice a brief reflective tool, and consider how self-compassion supports sustainable peer practice and stronger peer relationships.

The session will close with each participant identifying one intention to support their well-being during the winter months.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Describe how seasonal shifts can influence recovery and peer work.
  • Identify personal signs of compassion satisfaction and compassion fatigue.
  • Practice at least one brief reflective tool.
  • Explain why self-compassion strengthens peer relationships.
  • Set one winter intention.
