Course Description:

Texas PRO Benefit‑Cost Analysis
As PROSPER enters its final year of the SAMHSA‑funded grant, RecoveryPeople is excited to introduce the Texas PRO Benefit‑Cost Analysis, a practical framework designed to help peer recovery organizations understand and communicate the economic value of their work.

This training will walk participants through how PROs generate measurable benefits for individuals, communities, and systems — and how benefit‑cost thinking can strengthen sustainability, funding readiness, and strategic decision‑making.

The session will be led by Pallavi Singh, PhD, Associate Researcher at the Texas Institute for Excellence in Mental Health (TIEMH), School of Social Work, The University of Texas at Austin.

Ideal for PRO leaders, administrators, evaluators, and peer‑led entrepreneurs, this session offers clear, accessible tools to help organizations articulate their impact with confidence and credibility.

Register today to learn how benefit‑cost analysis can support the long‑term success of peer recovery organizations across Texas.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the purpose and core components of a benefit‑cost analysis and how it applies to peer recovery organizations.
  • Identify the types of economic and community benefits PROs generate, including avoided costs, improved outcomes, and strengthened recovery capital.
  • Describe how benefit‑cost findings can support sustainability, including funding proposals, partnerships, and strategic planning.
  • Use benefit‑cost thinking to frame PRO impact in ways that resonate with policymakers, funders, and community stakeholders.
  • Apply the Texas PRO Benefit‑Cost Analysis framework to real‑world organizational scenarios to support leadership decision‑making.
