Course Description:
Ethical practice is the foundation of effective peer support, especially when real-world situations become complex. This interactive training brings peer specialists together to explore practical ethical dilemmas using a structured decision-making model. Through case studies, breakout discussions, and guided reflection, participants will examine how values, boundaries, and power dynamics show up in everyday peer support work. This session creates a supportive space to strengthen ethical confidence, deepen self-awareness, and apply the Texas Peer Specialist Code of Ethics to real scenarios peers encounter in the field.
Instructor Bio:
Jamie Enchinton Bailey LPC-A, LCDC, RSPS, MHPS, PSS
Jamie Enchinton Bailey is a woman in long term recovery. She is the lead peer recovery support specialist for Project Vida, a fully integrated federally qualified health care clinic in El Paso, TX. She is co-founder and chair for the El Paso Harm Reduction Alliance. She is also an Opioid Response Network (ORN) Consultant. She is a site reviewer for the Council on Accreditation of Peer Recovery Support Services (CAPRSS). She is a Yoga teacher. She has a master’s degree in mental health counseling and holds licenses as professional counselor (LPC-A) and licensed chemical dependency counselor (LCDC). She is certified as a recovery support peer specialist, mental health peer specialist, and peer support specialist supervisor. She is passionate about serving individuals and families who are affected by substance use in order to help them find and sustain recovery as they define it.
