Course Description:
This training provides an overview of the core competencies, skills, and ethical responsibilities of recovery support professionals. Participants will explore the role of ethics in peer support, distinguish between personal and professional ethics, and develop practical strategies for providing ethical, recovery-oriented services. Through discussion and real-world examples, learners will strengthen their ability to navigate ethical situations while maintaining professionalism, integrity, and person-centered support.
Instructor Bio:
Christopher Bailey PSS, RSPS, MA-phil
Christopher Bailey is a Project Coordinator at Project Vida Health Center in El Paso, Texas, and a long-time leader in peer recovery support workforce development. He is a Trainer of Trainers for the Recovery Support Peer Specialist curriculum, Texas Peer Specialist Core Curriculum, and Texas Peer Specialist Supervisor Training, and has helped shape peer supervision standards in Texas through curriculum development work with HHSC. He is also a Motivational Interviewing coder trained by MINT trainers to provide in-depth MI trainings. Christopher serves as Adjunct Faculty, Technical Assistance Subject Matter Expert, and Site Reviewer for CAPRSS, and as faculty for Project Vida’s ACGME-accredited Psychiatry Residency Program. He brings lived experience, systems knowledge, and a strong commitment to recovery-oriented practice to his work in peer support, supervision, risk mitigation, curriculum design, and integrated behavioral health. He strives to help develop the future Peer Supports and Supervisors of Texas.
