2022 Technical Assistance Impact

Technical Assistance

Technical assistance (e.g. help, guidance or non-financial support) is a primary way that RecoveryPeople makes an impact and promotes recovery from substance use and related mental health challenges. Learn about our education impact below and about our other activities in our 2022 Impact Report.

RecoveryPeople provides help, guidance, and support to organizations and individuals. This ranges from administrative services to resource development and linkage to consulting.

RecoveryPeople is the fiscal agent of the Texas Recovery Oriented Housing Network (TROHN), which is the state affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR). TROHN is responsible for accrediting recovery housing in Texas that meets national standards and for serving as a resource to the community.

Accreditation

In 2022, TROHN accredited 27 providers that oversee 74 properties, which collectively represent 778 recovery beds. To ensure state-funded recovery housing dollars are linked to accredited providers, University partners contracted RecoveryPeople to:

  • UTHealth Houston - Provided technical assistance and accreditation to providers adapting their programs and policies to proficiently support residents undergoing medication-assisted treatment.

  • UTHealth San Antonio - Provided technical assistance and accreditation to providers receiving recovery housing vouchers for emerging adults.
